The map below details all the most powerful empires from history and shows the area each empire covered, the amount of people they had under their rule, the year they reached their political height, the period of time they reigned, and who their most famous ruler waas.
You’ll get to see how the British Empire compares with the Mongol Empire and how they both fare against the Ottoman Empire and how they all hold up to the Roman Empire and so on. Some glaring empires aren’t shown for whatever reason and I’d love more details on each but it’s just nice to see how most of the world’s most famous empires stack up against each other, even if it’s not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
