The First Black Panther Set Pictures Confirm The Return Of Another Civil War Character

A new magazine might have accidentally given away the end of Transformers: The Last Knight. Don’t get too worked up about Hugh Jackman’s recent comments about Logan and the X-Men timeline. Plus, what’s to come on Flash, Arrow and Supergirl, and a new Supernatural teaser. Spoilers get!

The First Black Panther Set Pictures Confirm The Return Of Another Civil War Character

Black Panther

The first set pictures from the film confirm that Martin Freeman will indeed reprise his Civil War role as Everett Ross in the film. Let’s hope he keeps his pants in his possession throughout the movie.

The Predator

When he’s not hoping to join the cast of Green Lantern Corps, Sterling K. Brown is apparently getting himself hired in other genre movies, like Predator. Brown has been cast as a government agent who is at first an antagonist to Boyd Holbrook’s lead character, but later teams up with him to take on the Predators. [THR]

The Wailing

Ridley Scott in talks to produce a US remake of the terrifying Korean horror movie about the citizens of a small town being driven insane through a mysterious affliction. Scott is allegedly also in discussion with the original film’s director, Na Hong-jin, to get him to direct the remake. [Film School Rejects]

Transformers: The Last Knight

A solicit for a new bi-monthly Transformers magazine may have inadvertently revealed that the Transformers return to Cybertron at the end of the film:

The robots return to newsstands with stories that are set after the end of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The giant robots have left the earth and have returned to Cybertron, where they must reconstruct society that has been divided by thousands of years of conflict. From June 2017, the magazine will be available every two months in comic book stores and book shops.

There’s a possibility that the solicit is describing an upcoming plot thread for the current Transformers animated series, Robots in Disguise, which publisher Panini has published content for in the past. But they have also released magazines and content that have tied into the movies as well, so maybe The Last Knight will see the Autobots and Decepticons heading home in its climax. Take your X-Men movie continuity timeline and promptly throw it into the nearest burning scrap pile you can find (err, again), because the internet is a flutter after Hugh Jackman told Digital Spy that the film is “different in terms of timeline” and in a “slightly different” universe compared to other X-Men films.

It’s a standalone movie in many ways. It’s not really beholden to timelines and storylines in the other movies. Obviously, Patrick Stewart is in there so we have some crossover, but it feels very different and very fresh.

When you see the full movie you’ll understand Not only is it different in terms of timeline and tone, it’s a slightly different universe. It’s actually a different paradigm and that will become clear.

The way Jackman words it, it’s possible he simply means time period rather than actual timeline — and in fact, director James Mangold took to Twitter to say as much:

So maybe don’t throw all of it in the burning scrap pile quite yet.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

If you haven’t been following along, Milla Jovovich is here to recap the entire Resident Evil franchise in just under three minutes. She probably could’ve cut that down considerably if she just yelled “zombies!” a few times.

Kong: Skull Island

Kong goes into battle in a new TV spot for the film.

The LEGO Batman Movie

Robin finds his costume, much to Batman’s dismay, in a new clip from the film.

Once Upon a Time

Sara Tomko has joined the cast in the recurring role of Peter Pan‘s Tiger Lily, who (unsurprisingly) has bad history with Captain Hook. [TV Line]

TV Line also reports the show is joining the musical episode bandwagon this autumn, although ABC declined to comment on the report, so take it with a little bit of salt for now.

Y: The Last Man

FX president of Original Programming Nick Grad says the show is still on track and in the works:

We’re supposed to get a script in the next couple months.

The Flash

The CW has unleashed a swathe of synopses for its returning DC superhero shows. First up, Barry hunts down a meta-human serial killer in “Untouchable”.

Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work together to bring down Clive Yorkin (guest star Matthew Kevin Anderson), a criminal meta-human who is methodically killing people by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) becomes his next target but it’s Iris (Candice Patton) who is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and begins to elevate the newer speedster’s training to another level.

Next, Oliver’s past with the Russian Bratva catches up to him in the appropriately titled “Bratva”.

A mission takes Oliver (Stephen Amell), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and team to Russia where they meet up with Oliver’s old friend, Anatoly (guest star David Nykl). Meanwhile, fresh out of rehab, Lance (Paul Blackthorne) returns to the mayor’s office ready to get back to work. Legends of Tomorrow

Team Legends heads back to the American Revolution to protect George Washington from time-travel shenanigans in “Turncoat”.

When The Legends find a new Time Aberration they learn they must travel to the winter of 1776 to protect George Washington and the American Revolutionary War. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, forcing Sara (Caity Lotz) to send out Nate (Nick Zano) and Amaya (Maisie-Richardson-Sellers) to help. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) who are busy protecting the incapacitated Waverider from their new enemy, are forced to step into roles that they don’t think they are prepared for. Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell and Arthur Darvill also star.

And here’s a new extended synopsis for the third episode of the series, “Body Double”.

After new information surrounding Jason’s death comes to light, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finds herself under a cloud of suspicion and forced to come clean about the last time she saw her brother. Meanwhile, Archie (KJ Apa) makes a tough decision that puts a major strain on his relationship with Miss Grundy (guest star Sarah Habel). Elsewhere, Betty (Lili Reinhart) decides to revive the school newspaper and asks for Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) help in investigating Jason’s death, while Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Ethel (guest star Shannon Purser) work on exposing some of Riverdale High’s football players after rumours of a “shame book” begin to circulate. Finally, after getting grounded by his dad Fred (Luke Perry), Archie must figure out a way to make it to the Taste of Riverdale event where Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and the Pussycats will be performing a song he helped write.

Veronica Mars

According to Rob Thomas, he’s currently working with Kristen Bell to reunite for “a six-episode Veronica Mars mystery”. He’s also surprisingly optimistic about its chances of happening:

If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don’t know when it will be.

Star Wars Rebels

Rival Mandalorians go on the attack against Sabine and the crew in a new clip from the next episode, “Legacy of Mandalore”.

Mon-El and Kara discover they’re stranded on a planet under a red sun in a new clip from “Supergirl Lives”.

Meanwhile, the White Martians attack in a new synopsis for “The Martian Chronicles”.

Armek (guest star Terrell Tilford), a White Martian, descends on National City intent on taking M’gann (guest star Sharon Leal) back to Mars to face her punishment as a traitor. Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) determine the best way to keep M’gann safe is to bring her to the DEO. However, when it is revealed that Armek shape-shifted into M’gann and is now loose in the building, the team realise he could be disguised as any one of them.
