Delightful Fan Video Sets Spider-Man: Homecoming to The Japanese Spider-Man Show’s Opening

Video: Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have definitive proof that Spider-Man: Homecoming would be even better if one of the zillion new things Peter Parker’s teched-up Spidey suit could do was summon a giant transforming mecha.

Mike Dent‘s recreation of the opening titles from Toei’s 1978 Spider-Man show does so much more than just splice footage from Homecoming to the wonderfully cheesy theme song of the show.

Aside from totally nailing the old school aesthetic of the show, Dent actually went and edited a moment of Tom Holland’s Spidey summoning Leopardon, Spider-Man’s giant mech suit (and, would you believe it, the precursor to the Japanese giant robots that would become Power Rangers‘ Megazords) out of the Avengers base seen in Age of Ultron. It’s so good, it makes me wish the one thing Tony Stark had done for Peter inn the run up to Homecoming was give him a giant robot, just because.

If Spidey doesn’t show up in Infinity War in a big-arse robot telling Thanos he’s the emissary of Hell, I’ll be very disappointed.
