Kogan Now Has A Smartphone With A Massive Battery For $169. Nice.

Kogan has just announced a brand new addition to its smartphone range – the Agora 9. And while it doesn’t have specs to rival the likes of flagships Samsungs and iPhones – it has some impressive features for its $169 price point. At the top of the list – a 4,000mAh battery.

To be fair, this phone isn’t going to be for everyone. But if you’re looking for a budget smartphone that can do the basics and has a battery that lasts, it could be an option worth looking at.

While I haven’t tested this one myself – the experiences I’ve had with budget units from the likes of Alcatel and Nokia (you can read my diary-style post about it here) around the same price point have been positive, especially in regards to battery.

The lack of bells and whistles generally means there is less to drain the life out of it, which I appreciate. Let’s hope its the same for the Agora 9.

“We use our mobiles to watch videos, play games, read books and do so much more than just talk and text. Your phone isn’t just a device anymore, it’s a personal assistant and portal of experiences,” says Sergiy Bobrovnychyy, Kogan.com Director of Exclusive Brands.

“We know people aren’t always looking for complicated extras, they want a device that’s functional, easy to use and won’t lose battery after only a few hours. That’s why we’re offering a smartphone with the capabilities Aussies are looking for at a price they can appreciate.”

Well, not just review it. I’ve also banned myself from using any other smartphones for an entire day. Even if a massive news story breaks while I’m out in the field. Even if the office is on fire.

After being spoilt by flagship phones for the past few years, it’s difficult to tell how I’ll go. Will it be fine, or am I going to go into a rage blackout? Let’s see.”]
