The Boys Completes Its Supernatural Infinity Stones With Jared Padalecki

Supernatural’s Jared Padelecki confirmed he’s finally ready to make an appearance on The Boys following the CW’s recent cancelation of the Walker, Texas Ranger reboot.

“Well, I’ll say this: Kripke and I texted today. It’s not been written yet, but I think he was saying [the final season] doesn’t even film until 2025. So yeah, I’m going to go play in Kripke’s newest playground. I had a great time the first time around, so I’m sure I’ll have a great time here again,” Padalecki recently confirmed in a new interview with Variety. “I love the show. I think it’s hilarious and exciting. But you were asking what my plans for the future were—and I love Jensen and Eric Kripke. Obviously, I’ll be indebted to [Kripke] and entangled with him forever. I met my wife because of him. I was Sam Winchester because of him. Supernatural happened because of him. So working with him on a show that I enjoy, I’m like, ‘Yeah, when do I fly out?’ But I don’t think we would film until at least January.”

Naturally, this was a long time coming. It’s been speculated the former Supernatural co-star would eventually crossover to creator Eric Kripke’s latest show, and it looks like he’ll make it in the nick-of-time—just before The Boys concludes with its fifth season next year. Recently, Kripke opined to Entertainment Weekly a Sam/Dean reunion would potentially “break the internet,” so while we can only speculate what depraved character he’ll ultimately play on the show, it’s likely he’ll be sharing screen time with Jensen Ackles’ Captain America proxy, Soldier Boy.

In addition to Ackles—and now Padelecki, it seems—The Boys has additionally seen appearances from Supernatural alums Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver, Nathan Mitchell, Lesley Nicol, Adrian Holmes, Christian Keyes, Isiah Adam, Kai Bradbury, Alvina August, Gattlin Griffith and Rob Benedict. And that’s not to mention Maddie Phillips and Alexander Calvert over on its college-set spinoff series, Gen Vtoo!“Family don’t end in blood,” indeed.
